Oooh so that’s why this person left dumbass comments on that post. Why did I bother..whyyy. Note to self: make sure you’re not dealing with sexist, racist trolls before trying to debate with them.

Truth^ #feminism #feminist #sexism #ughhh

lol some of the comments on this are hilariously ignorant and just reaffirm the tweeters statement hahaa

Or they just reaffirm that feminists are the biggest hypocrites on the planet because they say feminism is for both men and women but apparently you and other feminists who reblogged this don’t seem to think so. Where does that put your movement?

What the tweeter is trying to point out is that people get so offended by a movement for women that they just start whining things like “but what about men? Don’t you want equality for men too??” It takes the focus off of women’s rights and puts it right back onto men. Feminism is about equality between all genders, yes, but it’s a movement that was started by and in support of women’s rights and equality. Not to mention most of the things men “can’t” do or the sexist things that are said or projected towards men are actually rooted in sexism towards women. Like “boys don’t cry” (because that’s what girls do and you don’t wanna be a girl). “Men cant wear skirts/dresses” (because omg women wear those eww too feminine gross). So do some research on feminism and gender equality and stop getting upset about someone pointing out a truth you can’t seem to handle. Yeah there are people who call themselves feminists out there that are big jerks and think men should die but the mass majority of us are just trying to fight for women’s rights and we have lots of men in our lives that we love and adore (and also support our feminism and contribute to it also). These “man hating feminists” have the definition of feminism as wrong as you do. But getting hung up on a handful of jackasses that call themselves feminists is lame and counterproductive. If you really want to help achieve equality between all genders (and even non-gendered people!) then communicate with some of the millions of feminists that respect all genders and learn from them so you can participate in the feminist movement that focuses on loving all people.Sighh…a part of me is tired of babysitting people’s ignorance like this but another part knows I need to continue to educate. I hope this helped.

The problem with feminism is that it DOES all go back to women. You say men are made fun of because when they act like women they are seen as weak. They’re not seen as weak, they’re seen as different.
It’s the same reason as why tomboy and butch are insults to females, because when similar people come together, they have prejudice towards others who are not like them. The most common trait among males is masculinity, so those who are seen as effeminate are outcast because they do not fit the expectations and norms of the common group - masculinity. The same happens to women who show masculine traits.
Gender is not a societal construct, it is mainly a part of our biology. A guy can wear a dress if they want to, but they’re gonna get a lot of attention because they are differing from the norm, which is men not wearing dresses. It’s not sexism, it’s aversion to things being different.
Feminism is not going to make it mainstream for guys to wear dresses or for girls to be 200 pounds and bulking for their next weight lifting session. People will continue to hate others for being different from themselves. Unless feminism can somehow change how every individual thinks or make it mandatory for men and women to take turns wearing high heels and alternating to tuxedos, it is completely useless.

LOL this isn’t even worth a response I have nothing to say to this I’m just reblogging so everyone else can see how ridiculous your statements about gender and gender identity and gender expression and feminism are hahha

Cosplay all the things…because u can!

Unless you’re fat like me.

FUCK THAT SHIT, DUDE
YOU ARE FUCKING FABULOUS COSPLAY WHATEVER THE FUCK YOU WANT
IF YOU HAVE TO MODIFY A COSTUME SO YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE WEARING IT, DO THAT! IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE 100% EXACTLY LIKE THE CHARACTER’S IF YOU ROCK IT LIKE THE GODDAMN CHAMP YOU ARE
AND IF ANYONE MAKES YOU FEEL BAD FOR COSPLAYING YOU PUNCH THEM IN THE DICK AND SHIT ON EVERYTHING THEY LOVE BECAUSE YOU ARE A GODDAMN RAY OF SUNSHINE AND THEY CAN GO TO HELL

The bolded bit there? I feel like that advice is beautiful for SO MANY SITUATIONS.

Ok quick thoughts on wonder woman’s costume..

I like it! Most of it. The only things I don’t like are the heels (I’m tired of women in action movies always being put in heels and esp people making the excuse of how she’s “more of a badass because she can do it all in heels!” Like no you just needed to keep her feminine and you shied away from combats boots or something realistic and also badass for women to wear) and then I guess the skirt is good but I was hoping they put her in pants like this awesome WW figure I saw once..but the skirt is okay. But mostly I like it I like the color scheme and how it looks very armor-y and militant and awesome :)

denny’s reminds you to behave accordingly at this weekend’s festivities. we also remind you that after you’re all con-ed out, we’d love to see your costumes and serve you late into the night. cosplayers are welcome at dencon 24/7.

Dude Denny’s is awesome for this. I had a guy take my pic while I was passed out on the grass waiting with my friends for our ride to come and I did not want him to take a picture of me but he did because he didn’t ask..I really don’t mind people taking pics most of the time but if I’m sleeping or eating it’s a no. That’s why it’s always important to ask! :)
